Statement:
Two experiences direct my artistic path. First the spiritual presence felt when looking at beauty and symmetry in our world AND what the past has taught meŠfrom women who went before meŠfrom a time when life was slower and in tune with rhythms in our world. These are images I capture with my camera, which is always with me.
I also use skills my mother taught me that were learned from her mother. The skills celebrate the past and present. It is important to me to teach these to others, starting with my daughter. This is especially important since my mother passed away in January 2008, followed closely by my father in May. Expressing these skills has now become a necessity.
I like to take color and black and white photographs that stand alone as artistic expressions of what I love. I also like to transfer photos to fabric and create wall hangings using a variety of hand-work techniques. I am available to create a special order for a wall hanging to tell the story of someone in YOUR life using photos and mixed media.
